Instructional Objectives
At the end of this lesson students should be able to:
1. Idenitify the national symbols of Trinidad and Tobago.
2. Identify the local cuisine of Trinidad and Tobago.
3. List the major tourist attractions in Trinidad and Tobago.
4. Explain the national significance of Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago.
Grade Level: Standard Four (4) given the level of content being taught.
Use of Media: Powerpoint Presentation: the powerpoint presentation is effective since pictures can be added as well as music, which will keep the children's interest. The varying colour schemes as well as pictures will also make the content attractive to the children and well heighten interest. The powerpoint can also be used to adapt to most levels of intelligences throught the visual and auditory images and sounds. The students would also be able to relate the material to pictures and sounds which would help in retaining memory rather than simple narration. The powerpoint can be used in a large to a small group and is adaptable to any lessons given its flexibility. The pictures as well as sounds will help in generating discussion since they would be able to relate it to their own experiences.
